Viewability is a digital advertising metric that works to measure only ad impressions that are actually seen by humans. For example, if an ad is served to the bottom on the page and the user doesn’t scroll down, it has never actually been in view. Viewability figures can also highlight fraudulent activity where impressions are faked to generate ad revenue.
